Special features: The label of this wine takes up the shape of the "martellina" in a stylized form. However, this Valtellina Superiore Docg Inferno "sinks" its roots in the past, as it is obtained from vines over 60 years old and partly from recently planted vineyards, coming from a clonal selection of Nebbiolo "Chiavennasca" carried out by the Fojanini Foundation.

Produced in Italy - Contains sulfites - Alcohol content: 13,50% vol.

Awards: Recognitions and evaluations from the main sector guides: Gambero Rosso Italian Wine Guide (2 glasses); AIS “Vitae”; Viniplus AIS Lombardy; Gold Guide Veronelli's Wines; Vinibuoni d'Italia Guide; Paolo Massobrio's Golosario; Essential Guide to Italian Wines by Daniele Cernilli.

History: the name of this wine also dates back to ancient times: the "hammer" is in fact a tool, similar to the hammer, but used mainly in sculpture and carpentry. This tool has been used since prehistoric times to obtain petroglyphs; some of the world's most important collections of rock engravings made with the hammer are found in the Alpine region, more precisely and particularly in Val Camonica but also in Caven, in the municipality of Teglio, where several petroglyphs have been found in the vineyards owned by Caven Vini.

Why buy it: because it is a wine of character, uncompromising, vertical, "earthy", but at the same time fine, elegant and complex. Particularly suitable to accompany structured first courses, red meats, roasts, braised meats and aged cheeses. Tasting it you will be able to better understand the reason for its particular name …..
